Hopefully everyone has received a commitment card regarding Amp-Up! Peru.  We are beginning a three year commitment to partner with some Alliance missionaries (The Browns) who minister to the Garbage Dump People in Trujillo, Peru.  Two weeks ago during the worship night, cards were handed out for you to prayerfully consider your commitment level to this project.  You are being asked to consider the following levels of commitment:

Prayer - Faithfully pray for the ministry to the Garbage Dump People including the Browns and our youth groups involvement, etc.  Those that are interested in praying will receive a copy by email of the Browns' monthly newsletter.  (The first newsletter we have received is posted in the youth center.)

Giving - As a youth group, we are committing to contributing $79 per month for three years which will help build an orphanage.  The Alliance is praying 24 other youth groups will do the same and thereby fully fund the orphanage at the end of the three years.  Please prayerfully consider what amount, if any, you would like to commit to giving on a monthly basis for the next three years.  (Obviously you can give a one-time gift.)

Going - In order to make this a personal experience, the Alliance is desiring for each youth group to make a trip to Trujillo, Peru to minister to the Garbage Dump People (hopefully next summer.)  We do not know if there are any age restrictions at this time for making the trip.  We are anticipating the cost of the trip will be approximately $2,000.  We are asking you to indicate on your commitment card whether this is something you are interested in doing, not interested or possibly interested in going.  Over the next year, we will have various fund raisers to help everyone that wants to go to raise money.

Please try to get your commitment card turned in within the next week so we can start making further plans based on the interest shown on the commitment cards. Don't feel any pressure to make a commitment to this project if you don't feel God is calling you to it.
