What:             Invitation to serve

We’ve received and accepted an invitation to serve for 2 years as dorm parents at Rain Forest International School. 

Where:          Youande, Cameroon, Central Africa

When:            July 10, 2008!!!

While we’d hoped to be on the mission field by 2008, we didn’t think that was possible and were thinking fall of ‘09.  It was disappointing, but we were beginning to understand the value of having more time to prepare.  Then we found out the need for dorm parents is for fall of ’08.  Back to ”Plan A“!  We need to arrive several weeks prior to school starting on August 5th. Since our training in Orlando is from June 13th through July 5th, we need to be ready to go by mid-June.  One thing we’re confident of is that time poses no obstacle to God!

Why:              Following Gods leading

Romans 10:14-15 says, ”How, then can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard?  And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent?…“

God is opening doors for us to pursue a 20-year dream to serve in this capacity and we’re excited!

How:        Through God’s faithfulness and your support

Since the need is urgent, we’re eager to get ready to go and are working toward that end.  As I’m typing, Mark is painting.  The house goes on the market on March 8th.  Immunizations and passport applications are in process.  We’re on the fast track for developing a partnership team of individuals who God has called to support missions through giving and praying.  It’s our prayer that God will raise up a powerful contingent of prayers and givers who are committed to join us as we team with Wycliffe in the work in Cameroon.  Enclosed is our Invitation to Partnership brochure to complete if you’re interested.  Our current prayer requests are for our kids and their continued enthusiasm to go, for our ability to focus on the task at hand, and for the financial support we need.  We want to do most of our correspondence by email, so if you’d like to be on our list, please send us a note.
